Service, Order, And Creativity
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant

This is the conclusion of a message I have transcribed and edited from a talk Ishvara gave on February 21, 2006. - TG.

Ishvara:

Awareness is the key. The moment you really become aware of something, it can change very rapidly. That core Self-that-you-are is waiting for the realization to come into view so that it can do something. Without this awareness, there is only control or manipulation or magical thinking.

The moment you see something very clearly, you acknowledge it: "Oh, this is going on. OK." Then you can shift. You can move to a different position. You can see a bigger picture. You don't do this to try to get rid of it. You do this just because you need to see clearly. There is something about having this awareness and clarity that really is transforming.

Yes, you can slip back into conditions. There is nothing to prevent you from doing that, other than your determination and commitment to being all you can be. The key is to look at these things and ask: "OK, what has that given me? What has that fear done for me? What has that belief done for me? What has that holding-myself-this-way done for me?" You start calling these things out and asking, "What are you giving me?" And then you start weighing it and you discover that it is no friend. If you knew a person who caused as many problems as your fear or belief have caused, would you invite that person into your house to entertain you?

You can look at these things in a very objective way. That is part of the transformation that is taking place. You have gained a certain objectivity about things, to the point where you can really see both sides. You can't be fooled. You can pretend that you are fooled, but you can't be fooled. You know what you are doing. You know what is going on, so quit lying about it. Own up to it. This means taking responsibility for what you know. The moment you are really determined to do that, the projections stop, the attachments stop, the resistance stops, the judgments stop, the past stops. It is the end of enslavement.

If you take the initiative to create order in your life, you will experience a shift. Order includes an orderly environment of course, but it also includes an orderly mind, and an orderly body. If you are implementing order in your life, you will not be running habits, you will not be addicted, you will not be out of control. Order impacts every aspect of your life.

Keeping the body orderly entails doing the things that you know to do to stay energetic and healthy, doing the things you know help you, taking care of yourself. Being orderly entails not being slothful, not being a habitual couch potato.

Service is the foundation of all. When you commit yourself to service, you are opening up a channel of cosmic energy and inspiration. That is how I stay the way I do: because of my service. My service is the most important aspect of my life. The more I am in service, the happier I am.

I live a very ordered, structured life. People have a problem with structure. But structure is part of order, and you are just going to have to get used to it because the new species of humanity is very orderly and structured. As the new species, you are orderly because you know how energy works, you know how things work, and you are not willing to mess up the synergy, you are not willing to diverge from that. It is like when you are running very slowly, you can run in circles and nothing happens, but when you are running fast, any little mis-turn can cause you to crash. So you begin to realize that the more you are accelerated, the more order becomes necessary in your life.

The universe, the cosmos, this solar system are all very orderly. If every planet were just doing what it wanted to do when it felt like doing it and didn't want any structure, existence would come to an end.

Service, order and creativity go together. Creativity uses the energy you collect. You focus that energy into something creative, and hopefully that creativity is directly connected to service. In this way you are constantly giving and giving and giving. And of course to keep giving, you have to keep receiving. There is a constant energy exchange.

You cannot be dependent on me, because in this energy exchange YOU are doing and creating. In that way, you don't become dependent on me. There is an energy flow of giving and receiving. That is a part of service also. You have to be open to receiving in order to keep giving.

Service, order and creativity together form a way of Life. You need to find ways to be creative. It will come naturally when you have implemented service and order. You can approach these three things from any direction. You can be very creative and you find that order starts slipping in, and service starts slipping in. Yet for me, service is the foundation for the whole thing.
